Please ensure you are available for all workshop dates as bookings are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. However, if we need to cancel or reschedule, you will be offered an alternative date.

Arrival/Departure: Arrive at 2:00 PM on Friday and check out at 2:00 PM on Sunday
 

Tutors: Sarah Patterson & Liberty Goodswen for retreat at the picturesque Hurds Hill Regency Country House, nestled in 5 acres of serene grounds with panoramic views of the Somerset Levels. You can choose dress making project to the retreat or choose a set kit.

During the weekend, there will be two masterclasses—one with Sarah Patterson who is Fabric design and sewing pattern designer & with Liberty who Winner on CH4 TV Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas. Experience the tranquility and beauty of Hurds Hill while honing your dress making and felt skills. TUTOR

+ Sarah J Patterson:

Fabric designer and owner of Sewing-Sanctuary. Sarah Designs all different sewing patterns such as bag, kids clothing and started developing adults’ patterns. She understands how to create or adopt patterns. Sarah has been teaching different environments and different age groups so she will guide you start to finish. Sarah has regularly appeared on Sewing Street Channel 73 Freeview in the UK for nearly 2 years now.  She demonstrates dress-making, kids clothing crafts, toys & bags. It’s perfect to meet her face to face.

+ Liberty Goodswen Felt Artist & Teacher

Winner on CH4 TV Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas. However it wasn’t a direct route. She began at Kings studying Law and thought she might follow a career in Opera being a member of City Lit Opera in London but marriage and children came along and Liberty soon moved to Tuscany in Italy. How different! Growing olives and homeschooling the boys proved enlightening and discovering the rich art and history of Italy gradually became infectious. Liberty has now been a professional felter for over 13 years back in England with a gallery in Somerset which has come to be known as Liberty’s Felterie. Over the years she has experimented and developed various techniques which she loves to share through her teaching either in her studio or via her online club, which has members all over the world. This means that others can really enjoy and progress their felting. Much of her work is based on birds and animals with an emphasis on giving them their own personality.
